QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What warranty do you provide about the
permanency of hair removal?
No warranty is given as with any other technology. Permanency varies
with skin type, hair type, color, hormonal status, changes in hair
with age, etc. However based on the references of studies given, a
60%-80% permanent hair loss can be expected at the end of the required
treatment sessions. This is the best hair removal technology available
in the world today. Thick, coarse hair takes longer time to go and
response depends on individual hormone status. Some patients need more
than 4 treatments.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
Varies with skin type and hair color. In general, 4 sessions at 4 to 6
week intervals may be needed. Discounts available if more treatments
are needed or desired.
How long does it take to do it?
Varies from individual to individual depending upon age, sex, type of
skin, density of hair and color of hair, etc. Usually it takes ½ hour
from start to finish for upper lip and chin. Me and my staff do it in
a nice and relaxed way. Bigger body parts take a longer time to
finish.
Is Laser Hair Removal carcinogenic?
No! Because laser emitted by this machine is non-ionizing, and has a
highly selective wavelength, which is absorbed only by the melanin
pigment in the hair shaft and does not affect other tissues of the
skin.
Does it help acne and in-growing hair?
Yes! It does help acne to a certain extent and no in-growing hair was
reported or seen by me in the treated series of patients. Remember it
synges and pulls the hair out.
Is the procedure painful?
It depends on the individual’s sensitivity to pain. In all of my
patients I have done it without local anesthesia, one girl was
sensitive but got adjusted in the second session. Although other
centers sometimes use Emla. I discourage my patients, as I know there
is no absoluteness about it efficacy. Diode Laser’s chilled tip
protects the patient’s skin. At the most you might feel some tinge or
some heat.
How long is the recovery time after the
procedure?
None! You may go back to your office work as soon as the procedure is
done. There may be some redness and bumps in some types of skin. But
this goes away in 2-24 hours.
Is your Laser Hair Removal system good for
any man and woman?
To determine this, I have kept my first consultation free (value
$200). I discuss and answer all you questions in this session. Only a
few skin types may not take it well. It works on majority of men and
women.
Are there certain dos and don’ts before the
procedure?
Yes. Again I discuss these things in our free consultation. We cannot
answer you on phone or by email. I would recommend you to come to the
clinic for the first free consultation and only when you are
convinced, we will proceed further for treatment session.
Is it done by a nurse or a technician?
Yes, my assistant or technician does it. Also I do it myself. I enjoy
doing it. I feel people come with more confidence when I do it. I have
taken special training for it and I feel comfortable with any type of
laser for hair removal OR for any medical indication. But it all
depends on my availability to do it. I have trained staff who do it
equally well. The machine is idiot proof.
Does any other form of hair removal preclude
me from joining your program?
No! We will discuss all these issues in the first free consultation on
a person to person basis.
How permanent is permanent?
It is as permanent as one can get. Laser Hair Removal offers the most
technologically advanced hair removal system available today. Studies
indicate that after a series of sessions, 60-80% of the targeted hair
will be removed, or become thin and fuzzy.
How many sessions will I require?
Since hair grows in three staggered cycles, fours session are
necessary to ensure that all hair are treated during their growth
cycle. A maintenance session may be required after 4 treatments.
Is Laser Hair Removal safe?
The system we use had been approved by the FDA and has not been found
to have any adverse long-term side effects.
Is the procedure safe for pregnant women?
Nothing in the studies has shown that Diode Laser Hair Removal
technology has adverse effects on pregnancy. However, I believe that
even a slightest risk is not worth taking. For this reason, I do not
perform Laser Hair Removal on pregnant women or women who are nursing.
What should I wear?
If the area that you are having treated required disrobing, you will
be provided with an appropriate govern. Generally you will be able to
keep some or all of your clothes on.
Will tanning have any effect on my session?
I strongly recommend that you stay out of the sun for a minimum of two
weeks prior to the treatment. As a skin care professionals, we must
point out that all exposure to UV rays is harmful to you skin. I
strongly recommend that you apply SPF 45and above before going in the
sun.
Can I wear make-up?
It is best that you come without make-up, but we can always remove it
for you before your session.
